Getting "error occured while communicating with google .." when Synchronization is done
Getting "error occured while communicating with google .." when Synchronization is done
Solution
Probable Causes with Solution:
1. There has been some Minor Error while communicating with Google.
Solution: Please try Synchronizing again, after sometime, by clicking on the Synchronize button in the SyncMyCal's toolbar.
2. There is Limited or No Internet connectivity.
Solution: Please ensure that the Internet is connected and then try synchronizing again, after sometime, by clicking on the Synchronize button in the SyncMyCal's toolbar.
3. There is a %40 present in the Google Calendar URL field, in SyncMyCal Settings defined.
The Private XML Address of your Google Calendar, which is copied and pasted from a Browser into Google Calendar URL in SyncMyCal Settings, while defining an Operation, has a %40 in it.
Solution: To get SyncMyCal running, please follow the Instructions below:
a. Open MS Outlook and click on the Settings button in SyncMyCal toolbar.
b. In the Operations defined, click on the Operation which gives this Exception on execution and then click on the Edit button.
c. Under Google Calendar Details, please view the Google Calendar URL (this is the same URL you copied from Private XML Address of your Google Calendar).
d. In the Google Calendar URL you viewed in Step 4, please replace %40, present with your Google UserName (E.g. "http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/username%40gmail.com..........) with @.
e. Your Google Calendar URL should now read as "http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/username@gmail.com/..........).
f. Save the Settings.
g. Repeat Steps 1-6 for all such Operations defined for SyncMyCal. Please synchronize SyncMyCal now, by clicking on the Synchronize button in SyncMyCal's Toolbar, and see if your problem is solved.
This Problem appeared due to Browser specific behavior. Actually, when you open up your Google Calendar in an Internet Browser to view your Calendar's Private XML Address, Internet Explorer 6.0 or earlier gives you @ symbol in your Calendar's Private XML Address, with your username. However, certain Browsers like IE 7.0, Mozilla Firefox 1.0.4 etc. replaces the @ symbol with %40, which is a URL-Encode for @.
4. Any other cause not mentioned above.
Solution: Please go to SyncMyCal Support Center at
